Week 14 16th-19th December FINAL ENTRY

FINAL ENTRY This has been a journey with a lot of laughs and tears. Working hard doesn't come easy, and our wins don't come by been lazy. I have felt so much during this semester that I haven't felt before. It’s been a good ride, and I am glad that I pushed myself to the fullest. Do the hard work yourself. Push through the long hours and hard times but remember to remember your family. This is something I feel very strongly about. We can't do all this at the stake of our loved ones. I know that we need to work hard to get somewhere and have people in our loves that can help us. Stand in the presence of greatness and you will be great. If someone wanted to start this journey, I would tell them that money won’t even be involved until things are established and even then, if money is the reason why you are starting your own business it will be the wrong reason and you most likely will fail. Week 13 9th-15th December

The things that I learnt from this week’s work is to be grateful for the things that happen or don't happen in your life. After having a week’s break after my studio closing for the summer holidays, I realised that I am grateful for routines. We normally feel routines are boring and we can’t' wait for the holidays to arrive. This is all true but after the weeks break, I started to notice my children were feeling irritable and grumpy. My husband and I sat the boys down and told them that for the next 2 weeks before my husband went onto leave for the holidays, we were going to back to our schoolwork schedule. Then after that we will have a break enjoy Christmas and New Year and go on our yearly family holiday. They started today 11th December, and it went well. They were happier than a few days ago. Week 12 2nd-8th December

Week 12 already! What a journey so far. I have really enjoyed reading the books even though reading is tiring for me. Virtue is so very important in business because once it’s been used and cracked it's never the same again. One never really trust someone one that virtue has been broken. We always wonder if they are going to be honest or are they going to lie again. Trust is very important and it’s hard to get it. So, we need to treasure it and look after it. I quote from Charles Handy: "Trust, too is fragile. Like a piece of China, once cracked it is never quite the same. And people's trust in business, and those who lead it, is today cracking. This is very sad because we need to feel secure in our dealings with others. The real justification of the existence of businesses according to Charles Handy is that businesses need to make a profit. They need to make money so that they can do more things and better things. To change the world and have it better for everyone. ...

Week 11 25th November - 1st December

 My attitude on money is the following. I love it when I have it. Loving it not in the bad sense of greed but loving what I can do. Especially helping those that need help. For example: There is a sister in our ward that has just started is her own baking business and I was her first customer 2 weeks back. I ordered enough for a month worths of biscuits and muffins for our family home evening nights. Today I ordered another batch of the biscuits. Here I am helping and supporting someone’s business. If I didn't have money, I would not have been able to do that. I can pay in full at times not always our children’s schooling for the year. That is what my husband and I did a month ago.   With regards to my business. When I have the money, I can buy more stock. This gives me a feeling of freedom and security to be able to sustain my business. Week 10 18th-24th November

This week’s reading was fun. I loved the videos as always, but this topic was fun. I liked the emotional blueprint. This was a question that I asked in my interview last week about 'how do you keep feelings out of business?" I asked this question because I am a very emotional person, and I wanted to know if there was a way around it so that I didn't need to get my feelings hurt or even involved. To my surprise, its needed. It's needed in a good way, and I was taught that we do still need to tame it. With the video from launching leaders I understood that it makes us who we are. I need to unleash my creativity and use what I know how while learning how to become better.   I need to remember to think big. This statement reminds me of how I use to be as a young adult. I always loved small dainty watches and never wanted anything big. Now I am wearing a bit bigger than my dainty jewellery and its fine, it still looks good. I can't just think small because it suits me...

Week 09 11th-17th November

I never really looked at how the statement: "Good is the enemy of Great." until I started my own business. I can't just be good. I need to be great. Been good is not good enough to succeed. I can see that. There is always someone else out there that is fighting to be the best. When I have had a good outlook on myself and had open minded thoughts and positive ones. I have been very good at what I have been doing. So, I need to remember to believe in myself more, so that others can believe in me too. If I believe it, they will too. When leading in my church callings I can see that we need to teach and help uplift others to higher ground. I need to do that when I am selling my goods and services. I need to be able to lift those around me to higher ground and serve them with all my heart, mind and strength. Week 08 4th-10th November

I can see that I am on the right path with my business. I just need to keep pushing forward and never quiet. It's been a good week for business, and I have felt inspired.   The videos were very helpful this week and because I am already running my own business trying to see how I can implement these strategies is helpful. I liked these three tips:   1. Increase your number of Customers. The more I have customers calling and the more that is coming I can see why you need to increase. By increasing their numbers, the sales are up. My whereabouts are also made know more and more.   2. Increase the frequency of purchases. The more they buy the more stock I need to get in and the more money I can make and the bigger I get.   3. Increase the average orders. By increasing this does the same thing as I mentioned above but it also shows to others that I am worth coming to and that I do have what they need.   It’s also important to make sure that I fix any human...
