I have been feeling very stretched this week with all my
responsibilities. Sometimes I wonder why I wanted to become an entrepreneur and
own my own business. When I was going through the questions to ponder about, I
realised why.
The 4th of the 7 habits is what stands out the most to me. We
are often and I do especially have an outlook on life as gloomy and not fun.
This is far from the truth. There is so much light and fun in what we do. It’s
how we look at things. There are times I feel when clients want clothing and
then I feel that they will not buy it because it is not up to their standard.
That is so contrary to the 4th habit of "Win-Win" but not at the cost
of others. I need to be able to see that they will win in gaining great
products and services and I win because my reputation has improved and to receive
some extra money to be able to get the next lot of things that would interest
my clients.
I can't go about my life feeling and thinking that people
don't want what I have to offer. This not only puts me down but also takes away
their opportunities to bless my life. I had an experience this week where a
lady called me for clothing items that I don’t stock and were needed to be made
according to specifications. It is always dicey especially since my dress maker
has never made this type of skirt that was needed. Without measurement of the
young dancer, she made it.
When the client came, she was very joyous and grateful that
I was able to help her at such short notice. While I was getting this altogether
for her, I was not having a “win-win” type of attitude. I had already prepared
myself for the lady been unhappy and not willing to pay and take the items.
I learnt that we need to keep this "Win-Win"
attitude for it to overflow and allow us to gain those public victories. This doesn’t
mean that because you have this attitude that it will all ways be this way.
Others still have their agency but when we do have our private victories the
public ones will come. It’s the private ones that have the most significance
than the rest. We are not going to be able to please everyone, but we can
please ourselves and been able to show others our confidence the rest will go
the path it’s meant to take.
