Week 2 - 23rd -29th September

Randy was very passionate about what he was interested in. I
feel that when we are that passionate about things in our lives, we can make it
into reality. He didn't allow life’s punches to throw him off course or send
him downhill. He could have easily said
he is going to stop this as there is no use, but it is that unchanged fire he
has within himself that kept him going.
I have had a few opportunities to be able to go overseas and
dance but due to funds I was never able to fulfil that dream. It was more of a
dream than a passion. A long-lasting passion that doesn’t die regardless of the
circumstances. It was my passion but not intense enough that it got me to get
up and do something about it. I still feel like that today.
Last night I had the opportunity of telling my eldest son
this. If it is your passion and it is your priority, you will make every effort
to do it. So, he is also a dancer, and I teach him in my studio and last night
he won his hip hop section with a Gold and can go overseas to represent South
Africa. He has had the opportunities before and received many Golds but due to
finances I was never able to take him. He didn't always show me that long
lasting enduring passion to that he really wanted this badly.
I do believe that to an extent that one can achieve our childhood
dreams but sometimes especially when it comes to finances, that is a big
stumbling block. I also feel that if we want it badly enough that wouldn't
become a big obstacle. There are lots of fund raising that can be done. Most of
all there is a lot of sacrifice that must be made when it comes to achieving
anything in life. That can be finances, so, saving and not spending money on
things that don’t quiet matter to life.
How badly do you want it? You will do all that it takes to
get there. That is exactly what Randy did. Towards the end he was unwell but
stayed strong in his character and held fast to the iron rod. That is what we all need to do.
